Hello and welcome to my website.

In the meantime let me tell you how I got here - It all started one day whilst playing on the beach with my middle child William. He asked what was the name of something he had picked up. I said it was just a shell but he insisted wanting to know its name - "It is a shell William" I repeated but to no avail. "No Mummy what is it called?" he persisted. Sensing a outbreak of tears I quickly said "Michelle" and he was happy!

So that's how Michelle was "born" and soon little stories started to form in my head. I soon had the basic storyline and I decided to make it into a book. But where do you start? So one day I popped into my local art shop Just Art in Morningside in Edinburgh to ask if they knew anyone who would want to illustrate a book. "I'll do it" said the laid back Ritchie Collins - who turns out to be the coolest painter in town.

Ritchie paints fantastic surreal landscapes in the shop and often sells each one before he has even finished it. So we got together and I showed him my original ideas for the characters. Soon he had painted the wonderful creatures for my book.

Scotprint near Edinburgh (I didn't want the job to go overseas) did a fantastic job and I hope you like the final result.

You can order the book directly through our secure online ordering system and we'll soon have the toys ready for purchase too. But the best value are the prints of the pages of the book, the first edition's of which will be signed by Ritchie, and these I hope will become collector's items.

My second book is out now in the shops and is called "Michelle The Rock Concert" and is a story of a bossy pop star who comes to do a concert in the pool. However Harmony is so nasty to Michelle and her friends that she doesn't realise that she might need them, then disaster strikes! I hope this book will help children value people and friendships and make them realise that to have a friend you have got to be a friend.

Please look around the site and see what else I am doing including my pet hate which is the evil additives put into our children's food by food companies. I will rant about the dangers of MSG, artificial colourings and a dreaded additive that we have been told by our lawyers not to mention by name but which we will make sure you know about. One child's health is worth more than all the  bullying lawyers who work for greedy food processing companies - so there!
